About Mauna Kea Fairways, HI
Conceived by Laurance Rockefeller’s, Mauna Kea Resort is certainly Hawaii’s premier destination featuring world-class golf and breathtaking outdoor activities. There are two golf courses: the Mauna Kea golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is a legendary masterpiece on 230 acres with incredible panoramic sweeps of sea and land. The second golf course at Mauna Kea Resort is an 18 hole championship course about 700 feet above sea level.
Mauna Kea residents enjoy access to two of the finest white sandy beaches in Hawai’i, an oceanfront tennis complex, as well as two world-class hotels: the famed Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, where you’ll find an extraordinary collection of over 1,600 art works of Asian and Oceanic cultures, and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.
Residential developments include Kauna’oa, The Oceanfront Bluffs, Fairways North, Fairways South, High Bluffs, Apa’apa’a and Moani Heights at the Uplands. Condominium projects are Wai’ula’ula, The Villas at Mauna Kea and Kumulani at the Uplands. These subdivisions and projects have been for a long time some of the most desirable on the Big Island of Hawaii and, therefore, properties are rarely available.
The Fairways North is a 68-acre development with 32 homesites, which boast panoramic Kohala Coast views, overlooking the fairways of the World Class Mauna Kea Golf Course. Developed by Mauna Kea Properties, it features 25 luxurious residences. The Fairways at Mauna Kea South is a 66-acre development with 33 spacious parcels. It was developed by Laurance Rockefeller in the 1970’s and these custom residences are rarely available.
